Maurice Greenia, Jr

Maurice Greenia, Jr. signs his visual artwork as Maugré.  He's been exhibiting his work around Detroit since 1980.  Spaces which he’s exhibited include the Zeitgeist, the Detroit Artist’s Market, 2-South, Galerie Jacques, the Willis Gallery, Detroit Focus, the Johanson Charles Gallery and the Scarab Club.

He did a large series of sidewalk chalk drawings which led to his massive 1990’s art project on the abandoned J.L. Hudson's store in downtown Detroit.  Major exhibits included a museum show in France in 1996 at the Musée de la Création Franche, in Bègles, France.  In 2008 showed over 500 works at MOCAD in Detroit.

He works with poetry, music and puppetry.  In 2020 he started to post new puppet performances on YouTube.  He writes and draws every day.  He lives a creative life.
